Congratulations to Dr. Salvatore R. Maddi. His fifty-two year prolific career as a teacher, author, theorist, researcher, and consultant and practitioner earned him a Gold Medal in the area of Lifetime Achievements in Psychology in the Public Interest. His pioneer study at the Illinois Bell Telephone Company opened up a field of health psychology research and practice that came from his seminal work on the hardiness personality. HardiTraining at Utah Valley University, Trio Student Support Services

For the past ten years, Trio Student Support Services at Utah Valley University (UVU) has offered Hardiness training to their at-risk students to help in their retention and performance. Under the head of Mr. Keith Jensen, Director of Trio Support Services, the HardiTraining program has grown significantly. There are now six hardiness trainers at UVU teaching hardiness courses.
